SEATTLE – Feb. 17, 2012 – A Trulia/Harris Interactive poll of 1,000 singles found that more than a third of women would prefer to date a homeowner than a renter, with just 2 percent claiming the opposite.

Among the men surveyed, 18 percent said they would rather date a woman who owns and 3 percent said they preferred female renters over homeowners.

Participants were also asked about home features that turned them on. Holding major appeal for both sexes – 75 percent of women and 64 percent men – are master bathrooms. Walk-in closets, gourmet kitchens, hardwood floors, outdoor decks and home theaters were all also heavily favored.

Ironically, for all of its romantic possibilities, hot tubs were identified by only 22 percent of women and 26 of men surveyed as an amenity they would really want.
